If you are using an evaluation copy of WebBuild Express or have not yet entered your serial number after purchasing it, you may see a screen like the following:

You can click the "Enter Key" button to enter the serial number you received when you purchased the product, the "Buy Now" button to buy it, or the "OK" button to use WebBuild Express during the free 30-day trial period.

For a few seconds, you will see the WebBuild Express "Splash Screen." Then you will see a screen where you can choose an Existing or New Application.

Since, we are demonstrating what you'll do when you build your first WebBuild application, let's choose "New Application" and type the name of an application, "Demo", in the name field. Then let's click the "Next" button.
The program now asks if you want to use a template. A template is a page that already exists in one of your applications.

By using a template, you can copy page layout and format, and it is an excellent way of preserving a uniform look for your web site. It can also increase your productivity, as you do not have to redesign each page from scratch. There is an extensive discussion of the use of templates later in this tutorial.

Since we're designing the first page of our first site in this demo, we won't use a template here. So we click on "Skip This and Use a Blank Page".

We are now in the WebBuild Express design environment. We can now begin to build our first page.
