Building A Page
Saving Your Work
As you build a page in WebBuild Express, you should save your pages frequently to avoid losing any work in the event of a disaster like your computer crashing or losing power.

Remember that so far in this Tutorial, you have been working locally, on your PC. All the data that you enter and images that you add to the application are stored on your PC. Data and images are not sent to the WebBuild Express server until you publish your site (see "
Publishing the Site" later in the Documentation).

When you want to save the data you have added to an application, click on "File" on the Menu and then "Save Application". Or -- even easier -- just left-click on the "Save" button (      ) at the left of the toolbar.

If you exit your WebBuild Express application without saving your most recent work, you will get a warning message:

If you click "Yes" your work will be saved.

In case your PC shuts down while you are working in WebBuild Express, you may not lose all the data you have entered since you last saved the application. After you reboot your computer, run WebBuild Express. You will probably see the following screen:
Click the "Yes" button, and you'll find that most, if not all, of your recent work is preserved.

Save Application As. . .

Occasionally, you may want to save an application with a name different that the application you originally created. You may have a published application that you want to leave intact until all modifications have been made and approved. You might save the original application under a new name, work on the application with the new name, and then.publishing it with the new name.

Another use of this feature is to use one application or website as a template for another. (Click
here for more on templates).

To save an application with a new name, choose "File" on the main menu and then "Save Application As..."

You'll see a screen where you can enter the new name for the application:

Enter the new application name and click the "OK" button.
