Notice that this screen has several sections. The pane at the top shows the name and appearance of the text, as currently formatted. (In the current example, the selected text has an Arial font). If you hold the mouse over one of the font names in the "MS Core Fonts" or "Other Fonts" area, you'll see what the font looks like in the top pane.
The "MS Core Fonts" should produce text that appear the same on most users' browsers. The "Other Fonts" are fonts that are installed on your computer, but they may not display on other computers exactly the same as they do on yours. If you cannot predict the fonts that will be loaded on computers of people who visit your web site -- and this probably applies to most Web sites -- you should limit your choice of fonts to the "MS Core Fonts".
For our example, let's select the "Comic Sans MS" font. Let's also choose Font Style Bold, Italic, and Underline, and change the Font Pixel Size to 18: |
