 Common name:        Voodoo Lily
Botanical name:
Amorphophallus bulbifer
Family:                       Araceae

A
morphophallus bulbifer is one of the prettiest of the Voodoo Lilies and the inflorescence doesn't smell that bad compared to others of the genus.
Amorphophallus only blooms when mature and even so it doesn't bloom every year. The unpleasant smell that the flower omits is only present for a few hours after the flower opens.
If the flower is pollinated (normally by flies if the plant is outside) it will take 1 year for the plant to mature its seeds. The seed stalk is very pretty with the seeds changing colors from green to red. During this time the tuber will not produce a leaf.

guess that if you are growing orchids inside than you might do okay with the Taccas inside too. An environment that's good for Phalaenopsis should work for Taccas as well.

Common name:       White Bat Flower
Botanical name:
Tacca integrifolia
Family:                        Taccaceae

Taccas have beautiful foliage and one of the most interesting flowers ever seen. However, they can be picky sometimes regarding their environmental conditions. When they like the conditions, they grow, flower a lot, and even produce babies. When something is not right, they slowly decline and eventually die. Unfortunately, sometimes the only way to know if you can provide them the right conditions is by trying.
The soil is one of the most important things for success with Taccas. The mixture needs to be light, very porous, something that drains well.
Taccas are easier to grow outdoor where there is some air circulation. They don't grow well for everybody indoors, but I
