WebBuild Express has an extensive collection of advanced features. Most of this functionality has been developed to meet requirements of our current customers. Advanced Cell Border Formatting:You can create special cell borders using "Advanced Border Formatting". When combined with cell background colors, you can easily create cells that look like . . .

Code Cells: You can create a new cell as a "Code Cell".
When you click on the cell in the WebBuild Express page
designer, a window will open. You can enter html, CSS,
and/or JavaScript code into this window, which will be
executed or rendered when the page is displayed. Code
cells are often used when you want to post information
from another site; banner ads, for example, or RSS news
feeds. Many public sources for such information publish
html code that you can copy and paste into a code cell.
At the right is a code cell which enables you to display
news headlines from the New York Times home page.
(Note that you can use standard WebBuild Express cell
formatting with code cells -- we have added a blue cell
border to the code cell to the right).

Adding "Other" Files: You may want to add files to your WebBuild Express application in addition to the html and image files for the Web site you are building. A typical situation is where a sitebuilder wants to make available on his/her site documents in Word or Adobe format, spreadsheets, zipped files, etc. (For example, click here to view an Acrobat document). These can be easily added to the WebBuild Express application by choosing "Add Misc. Files" on the "File" menu. Once they are added, you can create hyperlinks to them using the standard WebBuild Express hyperlink creation functionality. The "Other" files that you have added by this process will automatically be transfered to the Web server when you invoke "Send to Server (FTP)" on the "File" menu.

Dashboard Items: Dashboard items enable you to add special functionality to a Web page. They are, in essence, preprogrammed sections of HTML and JavaScript code that can accept parameters that you supply. You can set up a dashboard item, for example, to display the current weather conditions in a specific location by entering the zip or city code. Some of the dashboard items that are available include a hit counter, functions for embedding Macromedia Flash animations, players for video and sound files, and thumbnail images that expand when clicked on. For example, the following photo, when clicked on, will appear in a new window when clicked on; this thumbnail was created using a WebBuild Express dashboard function:

E-Commerce: WebBuild Express gives you the ability to create Web stores that offer products and services for online sale. There is "basic" and "advanced" E-Commerce functionality. The basic functionality allows you to create links to a shopping cart using the standard WebBuild Express hyperlink functionality; the advanced E-Commerce functions enable you to create a shoping experience where the customer can select from a variety of pre-programmed characteristics and parameters. Below are examples of each of the WebBuild E-Commerce modes:

Site Search: You can give visitors the ability to perform a Googlelike search of your site. For example, if you enter "E-Commerce" into the form at the left and click the "Search" button, you will get a list of all pages on this site that contain the word "E-Commerce", and you can access any page by clicking the appropriate link in the listing of search results.

There are a number of other advanced features that will be released within the next few months. These will include functionality for creating online forms and tables, publishing news from RSS sources, and wizards for creating pages from scratch.
