Welcome to a virtual tour of the American Orchid Society Botanical Garden.   Imagine! Prior to the year 1999 nothing was here.  Under the direction of Darrin Duling, Director of Horticulture, trees and plants were brought in.  Many volunteers and staff worked hard to create an outstanding 3+ acre  Botanical Garden.  The new home of the AOS was opened to the public on March 3, 2001. Damage from hurricanes has been repaired and the growth now is lush with orchids almost everywhere.
There is a story behind each shrub and tree. Some are just folklore; others have been substantiated by research.  I hope you enjoy this information as well as the beauty of nature's bounty.
